Why did you become a writer?
Great question. Telling stories has always been a part of me, and I was encouraged by my teachers throughout my school years. As an adult, I needed an outlet to channel my anxiety and need for control. In my stories, I’m in charge which is very satisfying. LOL
How much research do you do for each book you write?
I do a lot of research for my suspense books. I want to make sure I get the details right. I do research on the settings and on various jobs for all of my characters whether suspense or romance. I sometimes fudge on reality to fit the story but I still do want my books to be grounded in reality.
What project are you working on now or what book will be next?
I’m working on book 1 of my San Padre Island Texas books. This story has a turtle conservationist witness a crime and must stay a step ahead of a cartel. The hero is a K-9 officer and her childhood crush. To stay alive, they have to rely on each other and let go of the past.
Will you have a new book coming out soon? Do you know the release date?
Yes, Shielding the Innocent Target, book 4 in my US Marshals series, comes out on May 21st 2024. This book has a woman who witnesses her boss’s murder, and the assassin will stop at nothing to eliminate her and her son. A deputy US marshal assigned to bring the witness and her child into witness protection will have to battle a man from his past in order to keep his charges alive.

Do you have a writing tip or advice for other authors?
Write your first draft and wait to polish it until your second, third, or fourth pass. It’s more important to finish than to get it right the first time through.
