Zara’s Romantic Suspense Book Review: Blood Code by Misty Evans

Blood Code by USA Today bestselling author Misty Evans definitely fits the requirements for a romantic suspense. The heroine is a Russian princess who has lived in the United States from childhood. Suffering from a severe blood clotting disorder, she is now a geneticist focused on finding a cure. But when her grandmother is kidnapped by the crazed Russian premier, she will do anything to save her, including seeking help from head of the CIA in Europe who happens to be in Russia on a training mission. The hero is an ace at his job, but when the beautiful princess’s life is in jeopardy, he acts rashly.

Evans has created a fantastic story that probably has little basis in reality. Any leader who acted as insanely and misused his authority as the Russian premier in this story does would probably not stay in power long. Nevertheless, the novel is still full of thrills and chills, and the growing love between the two main characters, who are willing to sacrifice themselves to save each other, leads to a satisfactory happy ending – which you will have to read the book to find out.
